About us

Elevating Women and Girls for Sustainable Change
Our Story

Empowering Women and Protecting the Environment

Blossom Bridge Initiative  started as the Health and Equal Rights Organization (H.E.R.O.) on August 20, 2018. Thereafter in 2023, we began to work with official recognition and registered as Blossom Bridge Initiative CBC.

We are a women-led initiative based in Rwanda, currently operating in Kigali, Northern,Western and Southern provinces. The organization was created to ensure that all women and girls can decide for themselves, benefit from their full social and economic rights, and have the ability to contribute to environmental protection.

We want to create a community where marginalized women are supported, can grow and succeed, making a difference, no matter who they are.

Today, Blossom Bridge Initiative is composed of 52 diverse women and continues to grow.

Come join us in making a better and fairer world

Meet our Founder

Josine is a resilient young woman who grew up in an abusive and conflicting household. Her childhood was marked by struggles and sadness. When her father found out that her mum was pregnant with her, he left them and never came back. Her mother remarried, back then it was taboo to marry a single mother, which created conflicts with the step-family. She found herself moving in and out of orphanages. Josine never had  happy times and laughter with her family. She was often a victim of verbal abuse which led to her attempting suicide several times at the age of 14.

She started a street life as a teenager because of family conflicts. Her tough experiences became a powerful lesson on how she could help others as she understood firsthand the isolation, the self-doubt and the struggle to find love and acceptance when it’s missing at home.  Read More
